Conjoncture Tax Credit (CIC)

What is CIC? — The Conjoncture Tax Credit (CIC) is a temporary tax credit introduced by the Luxembourg government in July 2023, with retroactive effect to January 1, 2023. In other words, the CIC is a helpful financial boost to help you weather the rising costs for energy, food, and other essentials. It is also a sign of the government's commitment to supporting its citizens during difficult times.

Who is eligible for the CIC? — The CIC is granted to all taxpayers with income, provided that their gross monthly salary is at least 1.125 €.

How much is the CIC? — The monthly amount paid is calculated on the basis of each individual's monthly salary, with a maximum of 54,25 €.

How do I receive the CIC? — The CIC is incorporated directly into the payslip, in the same way as the CIS and CISSM.

When does the CIC expire? — The CIC is temporary and is supposed to expire on December 31, 2023.
